Thomas Conrad GATZ

Thomas Conrad Gatz was married to Patricia Gilbert (daughter of Betty and the late Dale Gilbert, Dale being the son of Raymond and May Ball Gilbert)

BALDWIN CITY — Thomas Conrad Gatz, 60, died Saturday (Feb. 6, 2010) at his residence in Baldwin City.
He was born Nov. 29, 1949, in Newton to Bernard Conrad and Mary Alice (Kerschen) Gatz.
A resident of Baldwin City for two and one-half years, moving from Scottsdale, Ariz., he was a retail sales associate and served his country as a Kansas National Guardsman.
On Aug. 21, 1971, he married Sue Garrett-Lively in Shawnee Mission. They later divorced, and she survives of Scottsdale, Ariz. On June 26, 1998, he married Patricia Ann Gilbert in Phoenix. She survives of Baldwin City.
Other survivors include daughters, Kresta Davis and husband, Chris, of Peoria, Ariz, and Emily Stowe and husband, Don, of Phoenix; stepsons, Shawn Mahaffey and wife, Christy of Baldwin City, and Nathan Mahaffey and wife, Cathy of Reno, Nev.; father, Bernard Gatz of Halstead; brother, Ronald Gatz and wife, Deborah of Joplin, Mo; sisters, Kathryn Grupp and husband, John, of Grand Prairie, Texas, Susan Luckert and husband, Karl, of Delia, and Marcia Jellison and husband, Don, of Skiatook, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Gatz.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kaufman Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
